It has be more than ten years since automation systems have been applied to the irrigation devices of irrigation associations. At present, however, the reference data for basic planning and design on the automation devices in irrigation field is very limited. Having regarded to this, this program studied specifications of transmission control facilities for irrigation studied specifications of transmission control facilities for irrigation so as to be applied to the automation of irrigation facilities and the main consideration is aiming at the water level, rainfall and gate control etc. The design specification of transmission control facilities for irrigation systems consist of field station, central control station and equipments (or provisions) attached. The scope of each chapters and sections will be described as follows : 1. Basic concept of automatized control system. 2. Design outline of automatized control system. 3. Composition and equipment of automatized control system. 4. Measuring instruments and water measurement devices. 5. Most suitable system plan. 6. Operation and maintenance of system. 7. Introduction of system examples. At present, the irrigation automatized devices together with the computerized automatized water distribution control have already been provided a pattern model of irrigation 0 & M automation. It would be better that the management engineers of irrigation association are to be trained at fixed time intervals with practical water management by automatized ways and technical interchange, so as to keep the system at the optimum operation condition.
